In Q1 2022, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Russia showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals interesting patterns in user engagement and app popularity.

Telegram experienced a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting at around 308K and peaking at approximately 486K in early March. The app's weekly active users also grew steadily, starting at 47.3M and reaching a high of 56.2M in mid-March. Despite its popularity, it did not generate any revenue throughout the quarter.

Getcontact saw its weekly downloads decline from around 323K to 96K over the quarter. The app's weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at about $5.1K in late December but dropping to zero in mid-March. Active users also showed a downward trend, decreasing from 3.2M to 3.1M by the end of March.
